Pregnancy Essentials


There are so many key things that go along with having a happy, healthy pregnancy. Yes, your body is made to create that lovely bun and do what it needs to do to make it to the finish line, however there are many things that you can do to help the process. Let's jump into some key essentials.

Water. Our bodies are made up of mostly water (I know you know this) and we need it to function properly. I hear a lot of people say that they hate to drink water or they don't like water that much. There's good news, you can get water and proper hydration from different foods! Raw fruits and veggies can help give you what you need if you want to skip a glass or two of water. If possible try to drink up to 12 eight ounce glasses per day. You can also add berries, cucumbers, lemons, limes, strawberries and different herbs (mint, rosemary, etc) to give your water some flavor.

Protein. This is needed to help our bodies function as well and your baby needs this to grow and develop. Good protein sources are nuts, seeds, legumes, eggs, and wild caught fish.

Vitamin B-6. This vitamin can help with that lovely thing called morning sickness. Eating spinach, wild caught fish, potatoes and bananas are good ways to get this vitamin.
